Question from: josh in wisconsin
hey i gotta real problem here and i need an answer, i mean i like all the A-F record bands a whole lot, they all kick ass, but some people at school like to fuck with me and call me a poser because i listen to mainstream bands and bands that are"poppy". i dont think that makes me a poser at all if i like new found glory or something, but what do you guys think, what do you guys think a poser is?

Answer: Listen to whatever you like. What you listen to doesn't change who you are at heart. If those kids fuck with you it's cause they got nothing better to do and they probably suck at life. Lets hope they never breed.

"Giving people shit for liking different music is totally PUNK RAWK" I dont understand why people can be such douchebags.

Hell, look through the band member profiles at the bands we like. Some of them are hella mainstream! So what if a band is mainstream? If you hate a band (and that bands fans) simply for being mainstream, without even judging the music or message, than you should probably reevaluate your life.

ahah, i guess this one's out to all the "punk/punkrockers" who, uh, dislike "mainstream/poppy/whatever/etc." music and think that they need to uh, listen to pure "hardcore" to be, "punk". nah, fuck it, rubbish! be yourself and do whats good and right at least in your point of view, and thats the punkest you can get..its not wrong to get spikes and dress up if you want to, but thats not what punk really means, its the shit up your head yeh. but i understand some stuff might not be your kind of gig, you may not reallly like it, but pls, try to respect it, at least, hah.

and all bands sort of "sell-out", they might not be mainstream. but they sell-out, and i don't see a reason why it's wrong to. c'mon, you're a musician, you play music, and you wanna close all doors and just keep your music to yourself? if you're good and major record labels or whatever wants to sign you up, naturally you would say ok hell yeah, and thats because you're good, whats wrong with wanting your music to be heard, if you think selling-out is lame, i think you need to do some brainstorming, you may think its cool to be 'anti-social' and stuff.ahah.ok.sorry,"punx".

i guess punkrock or on a larger scale music, is one of the greatest forms of sub-culture that man had created, and its good to instead of dissing each other, respect each others genre, for what it is, as long as it doesn't spread bad influence(like hiphop, hahah sorry my niggas, speakin' out)..well, respect each other. its not like your music's the best or anything, everything is based on personal perspective.

i've been listening to many emocore/screamo/hardcore shit recently. like i've mentioned in my last few posts, really need to say that ..these bands are fukking awesome.

esp saosin (the drummer in that band is fucking creative/good) and uh
fordirelifesake (guitarist is real sick shit, like teppei of thrice coupled with multi-efx and massive speed of harmonics n' stuff, damn good guitarist).
so ya, go checkout:
saosin and fordirelifesake !!

ahah, not forgetting the best band ever, anti-flag..
ooh and yeh, was at tapestry gig part 2?if im right, at fareast yesterday, and there were a few bands, most of em' weren't to me interests but there was this band called radiance that had an awesome drummer and a good guitarist, and they played shit like 'dance of eternity' and 'overture 1982' from dream theatre, great shit.

and haha, not forgetting, my current 2nd favourite local punkrock band,
SHOE SIZE NINE!!!!!!!!!!!! omg they are fucking creative, with their riffs, the drummer, the bassist, the guitarist ESP!! really smart guys, coming up with real catchy riffs that're really melodic, and creative. sounds like rufio/thrice/fordirelifesake to me.. these guys are great. go check em' out @ www.shoesizenine.cjb.net , get their ALBUM or something, go catch em' live!
